Thistle Hotels signs deal with BT to offer all-areas broadband

Thistle Hotels is to offer wireless broadband throughout all areas of its properties after signing an agreement with telecoms giant BT.

The group currently offers Wi-Fi access in meeting areas and bedrooms in many of its hotels through multiple providers, but admitted that the service was inconsistent.

Stuart Leven, sales and marketing director at Thistle Hotels, said: "We are finding more and more that Wi-Fi is becoming a critical factor for company's deciding on conference venues.

"It really will enhance the experience if customers can use just one provider whenever, and wherever they are in the hotel."

Leven said the service would be available in all 19 London properties within 46 weeks, followed by the 30 provincial estates by the end of the year.

The five-year partnership covers both the Thistle and Guoman hotels.
