Tom Aspey has been named new general manager of the Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds, which comprises the 40-bedroom, four-star Dormy House hotel and spa, and eight-bedroom private house hotel Foxhill Manor.

Dormy House and Foxhill Manor are part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, and its private residences portfolio, respectively.

Originally from the Cotswolds, Aspey has over 16 years' experience within hospitality. He previously worked in several roles at the Soho House Group, including as project operations manager at the Soho Farmhouse, general manager at the Dean Street Townhouse, High Road House and Café Boheme.

He was also assistant general manager at the Hoxton Grill, also part of the Soho House Group.

He takes over from former general manager Sarah Stacey, who helped to win the property the AA Hotel of the Year England award for 2014-15.

Set within 400 acres of Worcestershire countryside, the Farncombe Estate is made up of two 17th-century properties and also features the Garden Room and Potting Shed restaurants, plus the extensive House Spa with pool, treatment rooms and a nail parlour, which opened in 2014.
