Tom Gibson appointed director of operations at Radisson Blu Edinburgh

Tom Gibson, one of this year's Acorn winners, has been appointed director of operations for the Radisson Blu hotel, Edinburgh.

Gibson, a Scottish national, has been with Rezidor for more than seven years, during which time he has worked in Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, St Petersburg and London.

After graduating in hotel and hospitality management, Gibson became restaurant supervisor at the Radisson Blu (then SAS) hotel in Glasgow. In 2006, he moved to the Radisson Blu Leeds as food and beverage manager before helping to open the Radisson Blu in Cardiff in 2009 as operations manager.

In his last role, he oversaw three restaurants, 26 meeting rooms, the kitchen and bar at the Radisson Blu Stansted Airport.
