Town House Collection to develop five-star hotel in Glasgow

Luxury boutique hotel group the Town House Collection is to develop a five-star hotel, Blythswood Square, in the former Royal Scottish Automobile Club's headquarters in Glasgow.

The 100-bedroom hotel will also house a spa offering indigenous Scottish treatments and a Seaweed Bath chamber, a 150-seat restaurant headed up by executive head chef, Daniel Hall, a cocktail bar, and private screening room.

Peter Taylor OBE, chairman of the Town House Collection, commented: "The chance to restore this landmark Glasgow property tastefully into a contemporary hotel, retaining its unique features and personality has been a wonderful opportunity. It's a magnificent building and we look forward to welcoming our first guests."

There is also the RSAC's original 'Rally Bar' named after the Monte Carlo Rally which started from Blythswood Square in 1955.
