Travelodge appoints new director of property and development
Budget hotel chain Travelodge has poached Hilton International's Paul Harvey, who joins the group as director of property and development.
Harvey, who worked at Hilton International for nine years, held a number of senior positions at the group including vice-president of Japan and Micronesia, managing director of Livingwell and UK finance director.
He takes up his role at Travelodge with immediate effect and will oversee the newly created property division including both commercial and development teams.
Harvey will report to chief executive Grant Hearn and will be responsible for developing a new international planning and strategy department.
Hearn said: "Harvey has a wide ranging role and brings with him a wealth of experience. This newly created position shows Travelodge's continued commitment to rapid growth in the UK and aspirations for international expansion in the longer term."
Harvey will be responsible for delivering Travelodge's expansion plans including the development of 3,000 new hotel rooms in the UK year, as well as international development.
