Travelodge launches iPhone hotel service
Budget hotel chain Travelodge has launched a free global positioning system (GPS) service to tap into the increasing popularity of Apple's iPhone.
Travelodge iBooker, which can be downloaded for free, allows users to locate the nearest five Travelodge hotels with images and list availability, distance and price on their iPhone.
The iBooker service also enables iPhone users to book rooms directly without the need to perform a GPS location search.
Guy Parsons, Travelodge UK managing director, said: "With the launch of iBooker, Travelodge continues to pioneer the leisure industry by making its hotels even more accessible to everyone via low cost, location and ease of booking.
"We are delighted to be the UK's first hotel brand to launch a free GPS based iPhone application. With the Travelodge iBooker service, wherever you are, you can always find a low cost bed for the night".
There are currently more than one million Apple iPhone users in the UK and ten million users across the world.
