Travelodge rebrands three hotels
Budget brand Travelodge is to rebadge three hotels currently operating under competing brands.
The addition of two Ramada Encore hotels in Milton Keynes and Chatham (pictured), together with a Days Inn property in Derby, will take the Travelodge portfolio up to 530 hotels.
The other Ramada hotel is a 90-bedroom property in Chatham, Kent, which has undergone a £600,000 rebranding exercise under a new owner.
Meanwhile, Travelodge has secured a 25-year lease with London Town Group of Companies to operate the 100-bedroom Day Inn, next to Derbyshire County cricket ground. It will be the group's third hotel in Derby and will be known as Travelodge Derby Cricket Ground.
Paul Harvey, managing director, property of Travelodge, said: "We are delighted to have secured these three mid-market hotels and converted them into Travelodges. Britain has become a nation of value shoppers and as a result the budget hotel market continues to go from strength to strength."
He added that Travelodge has the potential to develop a further 250 hotels in the UK.
