Travelodge recruits J Sainsbury's man to head up projects
Budget hotel chain Travelodge has poached a senior developer from supermarket group J Sainsbury's to head up its new head of projects role.
Leigh Mccarron, formerly senior project manager at the supermarket chain, was responsible for delivering projects worth £100m over the last five years.
These included the introduction of chip-and-Pin technology in store and achieving savings of £30m across the group.
At Travelodge, he will be responsible for developing a programme to facilitate the company's growth strategy of opening a new hotel every eight days for the next five years.
Mccarron said: "Even in the retail industry, Travelodge has a reputation for being innovative, efficient and highly progressive in how it operates its low cost model. The business is growing at a phenomenal rate and I look forward to implementing a strategy to make the business even stronger in its delivery."
