Travelodge takes over lease of Days Inn hotel in Haverhill, Suffolk
Budget brand Travelodge has taken on a 25-year lease to operate what was previously a Days Inn hotel in Haverhill, Suffolk.
The 80-bedroom hotel is the fourth property that Travelodge has secured this year from other operators including another Days Inn hotel in Derby and two Ramada Encore hotels in Milton Keynes and Chatham.
Boosting the group's UK portfolio to 534 hotels, the new property will see 15 employees, including nine outsourced housekeepers, transferring under TUPE regulations to Travelodge.
Jaynic Investments, the property's owner, will now invest £700,000 in rebranding the hotel in line with Travelodge's design and introducing the company's bespoke ‘Dreamer' bed.
Tony O'Brien, development director of Travelodge UK, said: "We have been looking to open a hotel in the town for some time and are delighted to secure a site at the business park.
"With our effective business model we can easily convert existing hotels into thriving Travelodge's. Over the next three months, we will work around the clock and update this property into a new contemporary Travelodge hotel."
