Travelodge to create 700 new jobs with hotel expansion

Travelodge have launched a recruitment drive for 700 new jobs following its announcement that it will be building 35 new hotels across the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>

UK and Spain this year.>The positions are situated in a number of major UK cities such as London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol, as well as the coastal resorts of Paignton, Ramsgate, Portishead, Morecambe and New Brighton. Travelodge's fourth Spanish hotel at ValenciaAirport will create 16 jobs. Vacant roles include those for hotel manager, assistant hotel manager, receptionist, housekeeper and cleaner. Travelodge has developed an attitude questionnaire with occupational psychologists, Criterion Partnerships, to identify the right characteristics to look for in its new employees. Michelle Luxford, HR director at Travelodge, said it is important that staff are able to work effectively within a fast moving and changing environment. "We are looking for people with resilience, who are passionate about their job, willing to do their best and those that are team players." The 35 new Travelodge properties will boost the company's estate to 495 hotels.
