Travelodge turns 30

Budget hotel chain Travelodge is getting ready to celebrate its 30th birthday.

The company, which founded in 1985, will also celebrate long-serving receptionists Joan Cable and Judy Harper, who have both been with the business since the start.

Peter Gowers, Travelodge chief executive, said: "The company's success has only been possible due to the great teamwork that takes place every day across the business.

"As we look to the next 30 years, the future looks very bright. We are making really great progress on our journey to make Travelodge the favourite hotel for value."
