TripAdvisor launches awards for exceptional service
Online review site TripAdvisor has launched new awards to recognise exceptional hospitality professionals in hotels and restaurants.
Following a survey of the site's users, TripAdvisor found that nearly half (47%) of UK respondents have received exceptional service several times over the past year, and almost nine out of 10 (88%) have returned to a hospitality business as a direct result of the service they received. A majority (68%) travellers believe that hospitality professionals don't receive sufficient recognition for their efforts.
Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor, said that hospitality professionals can be "the difference-maker" between what makes a trip simply good or absolutely amazing. "The Exceptional Service Awards are a way for our travellers to publicly recognise and celebrate hospitality professionals who went the extra mile to make guests feel special."
Travellers from the UK and US are invited to nominate top performing operators for the Exceptional Service Awards, from now until 24 October, here: http://bit.ly/ExceptionalServiceAwards. Experiences must be from within the past 12 months and entries must relate to the experiences within the past 12 months and include the hospitality professional's name and job title .
The winners will be announced later this year.
