Tyrie and Gottlieb help launch hospitality consultancy
A new hotel and restaurant consultancy offering support in developing maximum value from a business is being set up by four of the most experienced players in the hospitality industry.
The Buell Consulting Group - headed by Roddy Watt (pictured), former chief executive of recruitment consultant Berkeley Scott, as chief executive and Jeremy Logie, executive secretary of The Master Innholders, as chairman - will be officially launched at Hotelympia at the end of February.
Watt and Logie will be supported by Michael Gottlieb, the founder of Smollensky's Balloon and Café Spice Namaste, as managing director of restaurants, and legendary hotelier Peter Tyrie as managing director of hotels.
The group, which is already working with 50 clients, has a further eight team members and 15 business partners, which will be able to provide advice on finance, human resources and recruitment, marketing, property, law, design and operations.
Watt said that building such an exceptional team of experts and top quality businesses has been very rewarding.
"Due to the nature of the new business and the people involved, we are able to act in a number of different guises," he explained. "As a conventional consulting business, we can bring expertise and experience to bear in a very direct hands-on manner; as an entrepreneurial organisation we are able to instigate business projects and start-ups in conjunction with investors and operators; and as an introduction agent, we can simply connect businesses with other business-to-business service organisations."
