Von Essen announce senior redundancies
Six members of the senior management team at Von Essen Hotels have been made redundant, nearly three weeks after the company fell into administration with debts of more than £250m.
Staff leaving the company include the managing director Nick Romano, finance director Stephanie Gibbs and creative director and development architect Andrew Onraet.
A spokesperson for the administrators, Ernst & Young, said that it was too early to say what would happen to the 28 hotels owned by Von Essen which continue to operate as normal.
"We are looking at the best strategy to take the business forward and that may involve a sale," she said.
Von Essen is now head by chief executive Charles Prew after the founder and former chairman Andrew Davis was replaced by David Duggins.
