Von Essen appoints new executive general manager at Seaham Hall
Von Essen hotels has appointed Bernard Bloodworth as executive general manager of its luxury Northumberland hotel Seaham Hall.
Bloodworth joins Von Essen with more than 24 years experience in the hotel and hospitality industry. His most recent position was general manager at McDonald Hotels-owned Linden Hall in Northumberland. Previously he was general manager at Close House Mansion in Newcastle.
Bloodworth replaces Roddy Whiteford who worked as an interim general manager at Seaham Hall for six months.
Nick Romano, chief executive officer of Von Essen hotels, said: "Von Essen is committed to investing in the best people, which is why we are delighted to welcome Bernard to Seaham Hall. He brings with him a wealth of experience and we are confident he will drive sales at Seaham Hall across all market segments."
Seaham Hall has 19 individually designed suites and bedrooms as well as the Michelin-starred White Room restaurant, which is headed up by Kenny Atkinson, recent winner on the BBC's Great British Menu.
Von Essen bought the property from Tom's Companies for an undisclosed sum in March last year.
