Wanup offers independent hotel loyalty programme
Independent and small to mid-size hotel chains can now become partner hotels with Wanup, an independent hotel loyalty programme, launching in November.
The Oxford Town House, Oxford, and the Lambert hotel (pictured), near Thanes, Oxfordshire, are both already partner hotels in the scheme. Joining is free and hotels will be added to wanup.com, as well as being offered their own microsite, a Wanup widget for their own site and free CRM software. Wanup will take an average of 6-9% commission on bookings.
Hoteliers that do not have a large portfolio can use the programme to offer guests rewards known as ‘Wanup Winnings' and gain more visibility. The ‘winnings' allow members to earn up to 6% cash back on their bookings, which can be redeemed immediately on future bookings or as in-destination perks at partner hotels such as early check-in, free breakfast, spa credits or room upgrades, based on the guest's membership level.
The Barcelona-based platform was developed by the Vallet family, the hoteliers behind Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, a hotel group with 67 hotels worldwide. The family set up Quantam in 2013, a purchasing company which uses a sharing economy to get competitive prices for small hotels.
Wanup aims to be the world's largest independent hotel loyalty club with a global collection of 7,000 hotels in the next two years. It will begin member acquisition once it has a portfolio of 400 hotels, which it expects to reach by November.
