The new owners, the Herring family, previously owned a pub in the area and have close ties to the local agricultural community.

The hotel, which is two miles from Lincoln, sits in secluded landscaped grounds with a swimming pool and a croquet lawn.

It offers 12 individual en-suite bedrooms, a 40-seat restaurant, a residents' lounge bar, and a bar. Meeting facilities include a function room for up to 50 delegates along with a conference room and a board/meeting room to accommodate up to 25 and 16 guests respectively.

There is also a self-contained, four-bedroom owners' house to the rear and a one-bedroom managers' flat on lower ground floor of hotel.

The Nottingham office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £1.25m on behalf of the Warren family.
