Western House named Hotel of the Year 2009 at ScotHot

Western House hotel near Prestwick has picked up another prestigious award inside a week, this time as part of the annual ScotHot 2009 exhibition.

The hotel was named Hotel of the Year 2009 at a gala awards dinner last night (1 March) at the 6th Scottish Hotel Awards, held at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow.

Hotel Group of the Year went to Apex Hotels and the company's executive chairman Norman Springford was Man of the Year.

Manager of the Year was Seamus Coen from Macdonald Hotels.

The Scottish Hotel Awards are separate to the Hotel Review Scotland accolades of the same time, which were presented last week after an online vote.

In that poll, Western House came out on top and was named Scottish National Hotel of the Year by Hotel Review Scotland.
