Whitbread plots international growth for Premier Inn with new appointment
Whitbread has appointed Paul Macpherson to the new role of international managing director of Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants.
Macpherson will be responsible for developing Whitbread's international strategy for Premier Inn.
Premier Inn currently has four hotels outside of the UK with three in the Middle East, one in India and a further three under construction.
Andy Harrison, chief executive of Whitbread said: "Premier Inn has a significant opportunity in the international hotel market. Under Paul's leadership we will continue to develop our strategy building on our recent experience in the Middle East and India. Paul brings a wealth of experience and we are delighted to welcome him on board at this exciting time in Premier Inn's growth."
Macpherson is the company on 15 February from the Jumeirah Group where he was chief development officer for five years leading their global expansion, prior to which he spent over ten years working in Asia and the Middle East in development roles for Hilton and PKF Consulting.
He will be based in Dubai, reporting directly to Andy Harrison.
