Wi-Q wins Innovation Award at Hotelympia 2016

Mobile ordering and payment system Wi-Q has won the Technology Innovation Award at Hotelympia 2016.

The ordering solution beat six other finalists in the technology category of the awards, which were judged at Hotelympia yesterday (Monday).

Wi-Q allows customers to browse a menu, order and pay using any Wi-Fi enabled device. It can be programmed to feature menus in any language and to include allergy and nutritional information, as well as accommodating special orders and bill splitting.

Wi-Q founder Graham Cornhill said: "We knew the industry needed something that was affordable, accessible, future-proof and that would add real value to the customer experience. We're happy to say that our customers tell us that it also significantly improves revenue from day one. There is nothing like Wi-Q and we are so proud and delighted to be recognised by the industry's leading influencers."

The 2016 Hotelympia Innovation Awards judging panel included The Caterer products and suppliers editor Lisa Jenkins, Hospa chief executive Carl Weldon, CEDA chairman Jack Sharkey and Stirling Johnstone, editor of GS magazine.
