Will Donald Trump continue to run business-empire as US president?

Uncertainty surrounds US president-elect Donald Trump's business interests, which includes two hotels and golf courses in Scotland.

During the campaign for the Republican nomination, Trump said his children would continue to run the Trump Organisation, which comprises a significant real estate and hotel portfolio, is the event of a victory in the presidential election.

Trump is believed to have an involvement in more than 500 companies, some which are based in countries where the US has sensitive diplomatic relations, such as Saudi Arabia and China. Such an extensive business portfolio is unprecedented for a US president.

In Scotland, Trump owns and operates the five-red-AA-star, 157-bedroom Turnberry resort in Ayrshire, which reopened in June following a £200m refurbishment, and the Menie Estate in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire, which include the Macleod House & Lodge.
