Worcestershire couple buy Devon country house hotel

David and Caroline Cashmore from Worcestershire are the new owners of the Glazebrook country house hotel in South Brent, Devon.

The Victorian property which once served as a gentleman's residence occupies a five-acre site (complete with its own cesspit and large paddock) that overlooks Dartmoor and is strategically placed mid-way between Exeter and Plymouth.

It offers 11 en-suite bedrooms (three with four-poster beds), a 70-seat restaurant and a 40-seat dining room, along with a function room for up to 80 customers and a smaller conference room to hold 20.

The owners' facilities include two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a kitchen on the first floor and a private sitting room on the ground floor.

The Plymouth office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off a guide price in excess of £895,000 on behalf of Alan and Maggie Davey.
