Work begins on £20m Times hotel in Liverpool

Work has begun on the £20m Times hotel, from the north-west based Vincent brand in Liverpool's historic Ropewalks district, which is scheduled to open spring 2018.

Liverpool-based contractor Newry Construction and developer the Elliot Group are behind the construction of the 116-bedroom hotel, which will include a rooftop pool and spa.

The Times hotel is a late addition to Elliot's neighbouring £40m Wolstenholme Square residential development, also being built by Newry. The hotel will be operated by Paul Adams, who is behind Southport's Vincent hotel and its sister bar and brasserie, the Vincent café on Liverpool's Exchange Flags.

The Elliot Group was also recently granted planning permission for the £70m, 360-bedroom Vincent Residence & Hotel at Liverpool's Queen's Dock, with work expected to start in the autumn.
