World's first sand hotel opens in Weymouth

The world's first sand hotel has been built and is open for business on Weymouth Beach in order to celebrate a renaissance in British holidays.

The hotel was built entirely out of sand by sand sculptor Mark Anderson and a team of five others and has been designed to look like a giant sand castle.

The open-air hotel will be available until the rain or sea washes it away and offers a family room with both a single and double bed. There are no toilet facilities.

A night in the sand hotel costs £10.
