Ibiza-born Mediterranean restaurant Jul’s to make London debut

Ibiza-born Mediterranean restaurant Jul’s has opened its first UK site within a former bank in London’s West End.

Jul’s London in St James’s offers a Greek-infused Mediterranean menu showcasing dishes such as octopus xidato with prespa bean purée and pepper salsa; bluefin tuna tartare with blood orange ponzu and raspberry and beetroot sorbet; and lobster risotto with butternut squash, truffle and espresso butter.

Meanwhile, basement bar No 11 from bar directors Vasilis Sgouromallis and Dimitris Karapanos offers a selection of cocktails developed through distillation and infusion.

Design studio ArcSet led on the Byzantine and Roman-inspired interiors, complete with marble and mosaic floors, scorched wood, clay plaster and a stand-out 6.5-metre glass wine wall.

Christos Fotos, co-founder and executive chef of Jul’s, said: “Jul’s culinary philosophy is rooted in my Mediterranean upbringing – centred around the ingredients and big, generous plates. At Jul’s London, we aim to recreate that sense of connection, offering thoughtfully prepared, abundant dishes.”

Jul’s was founded in 2018 in Ibiza by Fotos, Jem Akyuz and his son Ilhan Akyuz. The group also operates Humain by Jul’s in Athens.
