Jean-Baptiste Requien appointed chief operating officer at Los Mochis

Jean-Baptiste Requien has been appointed chief operating officer of Mexican-Japanese restaurant Los Mochis.

Requien was previously chief operating officer of Richard Caring's Ivy Asia. He was also director of operations at D&D London for four years and worked with Gordon Ramsay for eight.

He will collaborate with the founder of Los Mochis, Markus Thesleff, to accelerate the brand's expansion plans, as well as managing day-to-day operations.

He will have overall responsibility for the operations at Los Mochis first site in London's Notting Hill, cocktail bar Viajante87, which is due to open later this month, and the flagship 14,000 sq ft Los Mochis in Liverpool Street, scheduled to open in autumn 2023.

Thesleff, who launched lounge and club concept Pangaea in 2001 across Marbella, New York and London, went on to open Japanese restaurant and lounge Okku in Dubai in 2011 and Riyadh in 2019.

Pan-Pacific restaurant Los Mochis first launched in 2021.
