Last year, The Caterer celebrated the 2024 cohort of exceptional talent, including the likes of Fika Catering, which won Boutique Caterer of the Year. Ed Walker, founder and CEO at Fika Catering said when his team heard the announcement of their name, “it really was a special moment for us” because the awards are widely recognised as the “the Oscars of the foodservice industry”.
Winning one of the 21 Foodservice Cateys is a milestone achievement for individuals and businesses but to be in with a chance to win a coveted Foodservice Catey, you must submit entries by 5pm on Wednesday 25 June.

Receiving a Foodservice Catey is the highest recognition of hard work and dedication, as Tim Axe, managing director at Genuine Dining Co., can testify. He told The Caterer that when the contract caterer won Event Caterer of the Year last year, “it was recognition for all the creativity, innovation, dedication and passion our teams put into everything we do”.
Axe added: “It’s not only boosted morale but opened up new avenues in terms of collaborations and opportunities. It’s inspired us to keep doing what we do and living by our ethos of being the best people, serving the best food and having the most fun!”
Similarly, Gavin Gooddy, director of marketing and innovation at Restaurant Associates, said that the team’s win for Best Use of Innovative Technology last year “was a huge morale boost” and “recognised not just a single initiative, but the collective ambition and dynamism of our teams across the business”.
He added: “The win has acted as a springboard. It’s strengthened our partnerships, opened doors to new collaborations, and given us the confidence to go even further.”
If you are struggling to put your nominee’s various achievements into words, then read our handy guide of top tips from our Cateys judges to make sure your entry stands out. Some great tips include making sure the nomination is clear and well written with strong evidence of the impact made, and ensuring that supporting evidence is recent, ideally from the previous 12-18 months.
Winning is significant because recipients are nominated, selected and rewarded by their peers and so is the industry’s only independent benchmark of operational excellence. So, if you know of an individual, business or organisation worthy of this prestigious award, we want to hear from you.
