Levy grows presence in Ireland with acquisition of Fitzers Catering

Levy UK + Ireland, the sports and hospitality arm of Compass Group UK and Ireland, has acquired family-owned Irish firm Fitzers Catering for an undisclosed sum.

Fitzers Catering has been trading since 1986 and provides services for sites including Fairyhouse Racecourse, the venue for the Irish Grand National, and the Curragh, host of the Irish Derby festival.

The companies said the deal will allow Levy to grow its presence in Ireland while giving Fitzers Catering a chance to expand as the leading brand of Levy's sports and conference operations in Ireland.

Levy's current contracts in Ireland, such as Aviva Stadium, will continue to operate under Levy with support from Fitzers Catering.

Jonathan Davies, managing director at Levy UK + Ireland, said: "There is a significant opportunity with this partnership to strengthen both parties and will further enhance our customer proposition in the Irish market."

Fitzers Catering's managing director, Barry Storey, and other key senior management, including founders Sharon Fitzpatrick, Paula Fitzpatrick, and Leonard Fearon, will continue to manage and deliver services in the region. Barry Storey, managing director at Fitzers Catering, said: "Fitzers Catering and Levy UK + Ireland's shared passion for excellence in food, service, and purpose make this partnership a real win for both companies and the customers we are proud to serve."
