Lisa Williams appointed national chair of UK Housekeepers Association

Lisa Williams, executive housekeeper at the Grand, York, has been named national chair of the UK Housekeepers Association (UKHA).

The former Housekeeper of the Year at the 2022 Cateys takes over from Kerry Adams, group housekeeping support manager at Seymour Hotels of Jersey, who was UKHA national chair from July 2023.

Williams was previously regional chair for UKHA Yorkshire & North East and has over 20 years’ hospitality experience, having held senior roles at hotels such as the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London and W London.

She said: “Training, education and flexibility are the fundamental building blocks of a successful career in housekeeping. We now have flexible contracts for our team at the Grand, York, allowing for greater work-life balance, more family time and ultimately a happier, more focused workforce.

“An exceptional foundation in the industry can accelerate career growth and support the profession in many ways. I am grateful that my role at the Grand, York, allows me to empower my colleagues, industry-wide, and to futureproof the talent pipeline for housekeeping.”

Her appointment coincides with the 40th anniversary of UKHA, which was founded to shape the future of housekeeping across the UK.
