Lucy Timm named group head chef at 26 Grains and Stoney Street

Lucy Timm has been appointed group head chef at 26 Grains in London's Neal's Yard and sister restaurant Stoney Street in Borough Market.

It follows the departure of Tom Cenci, who stepped down from his role as head of food across both sites in April.

Timm will begin her role on 25 May and plans to develop a new menu of "comforting and seasonal" dishes.

Timm started her career as chef de commis at Sager + Wilde in London before joining Old Street restaurant and wine bar Fare, where she developed her butchery skills, and then Michelin-starred Leroy in Shoreditch as senior chef de partie.

During the pandemic she launched her own venture, Plates & Playlists, which offered a three-course set menu to finish at home with a playlist to match.

Since March 2021, Timm has worked as head chef at Royale, where she specialised in Provençal-inspired cooking.

26 Grains was launched by Alex-Hely Hutchinson, who started out selling porridge pots in London's Old Street tube station. Her first permanent restaurant opened in Neal's Yard in 2015.
