Matt Brandon named chief executive at Honest Burgers

Matt Brandon has been promoted to chief executive at casual dining chain Honest Burgers.

He replaces Kevin Styles, who is leaving after just seven months to take up a chief executive role at the Pig hotels.

Honest Burgers said in a statement: “We are delighted to announce that Matt Brandon steps up from chief financial officer to chief executive, having previously acted as interim chief executive last year delivering the best commercial performance in the brand’s history. We believe that Matt is best placed to lead Honest into our next phase of accelerated growth.”

Brandon has previously held senior roles in Snowfox Group, Popeyes and Burger King.

His appointment comes amid a major expansion push for Honest Burgers, which operates 39 UK restaurants. The group is aiming to quadruple in size by 2030 and previously said it was on track to record turnover in excess of £60m this year.

It launched its new grab-and-go smashburger concept, Smash + Grab, in London’s Liverpool Street December, which offers burgers from £6.25 and chips from £3.25.

Honest Burgers was co-founded by friends Tom Barton and Philip Eeles in Brighton in 2009.
