The 120-seat bar features 30 screens showing live sport until 2am
MEATliquor founder Scott Collins has launched a 120-seat sports bar in Covent Garden which opens until 2am.
BLOODsports opened on 12 February in the former Circus restaurant site and features 30 screens showing live sport from around the world, with occasional horror movies screened in between.
The bar also features all-day karaoke, a pool table, pinball and arcade machines and a ‘Psychobooth’ – a photobooth inspired by the famous shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s Pyscho.
Portsmouth shop Hideout Coffee will serve its coffee and doughnuts at the bar from 8am-8pm from 24 February.
Founder Scott Collins said, “BLOODsports has been on the cards for over 10-years, it’s just been a case of waiting for the right site. It’s inspired by the best of the dive and sports bars I frequented when I lived in the US - with a carefully curated dash of horror films and our rock solid MEATliquor food menu with some BS specific dishes. In short, it’s a one stop fun shop…”
Several MEATliquor classics are on the menu, including the Dead Hippie burger and Monkey Fingers chicken strips, alongside new items including a deep-fried hotdog wrapped in bacon.
Drinks include cocktails, boozy slushies and ‘Bloods & Drips’ range of tomato-based drinks designed to ward off hangovers.
For groups, there are larger booths complete their own screens, as well as a private hire space with its own bar, booths and arcade machines.
Collins and Yianni Papoutsis founded MEATliquor as a London street food van and its first restaurant in Marylebone opened in 2011.
The group now has seven sites in London and one each in Brighton and Leeds.
