The Lancashire pub will reopen on 5 November with a changed menu and new look
Mike Shaw has been appointed chef patron at the Freemasons at Wiswell, the Michelin Guide-listed Lancashire pub.
Shaw has worked across Raymond Blanc’s two-Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, the Michelin-starred Hambleton Hall in Rutland, and Gordon Ramsay’s Aubergine in London’s Chelsea. He was also previously head chef at Gilpin Lodge in the Lake District.
The Freemasons will remain closed throughout October for refurbishments and menu changes before reopening on 5 November.
The Ribble Valley pub will continue to offer a signature tasting menu in addition to à la carte dining, showcasing the best of local British produce.
Shaw said: “I visited the Freemasons a number of years ago and thought, what a beautiful place. It reminded me of my time in Great Milton at Le Manoir and Hambleton Hall. Customers can expect the new menu to offer British pub classics alongside seasonal dishes, each with our signature touch, showcasing the best of local produce as well as ingredients from further afield.”
The Freemasons was relaunched in 2009 and now holds three-AA-rosettes. It offers four bedrooms, a chef’s table and bench and wine cellar with over 250 wines from around the world.
