Year to date like-for-like sales also increased by 4.2% following a robust performance from its mid-market brands
All Bar One owner Mitchells and Butlers has reported like-for-like food and drink sales growth of 3.1% for its fourth quarter ended 20 September 2025.
Year to date like-for-like sales saw 4.2% growth, while total sales increased 3.9%.
The group, which operates brands including Harvester, Browns and Toby Carvery, said it had seen a robust performance from its mid-market pub and pub-restaurants, while sales within the M25 were slightly weaker, as were its more premium businesses.
The business completed 201 conversions and remodels in the year, compared to 185 last year, and opened two new sites, in addition to purchasing two freeholds of existing sites.
In its pre-close trading statement, chief executive Phil Urban said: “We are pleased with our performance over the year, in which we remained consistently ahead of the market, across all market segments.
“Sales growth has been broad based, with strong like-for-like performances in both food and drink across our portfolio of brands, supported by cost efficiencies and a capital programme which continues to deliver strong returns.”
Looking to next year, the business anticipates a higher level of overall cost inflation of around £130m – around 6% of its cost base – but it said it faces this challenge “with confidence” in its brands continuing to outperform the sector.
