Motto by Hilton to mark UK debut with Glasgow opening

The first UK hotel under the Motto by Hilton brand is to open in Glasgow in autumn 2024.

It will join Hilton's portfolio of more than 160 hotels across the UK and will become the eighth Hilton property in Glasgow.

The brand's hotels are marketed as 'urban lifestyle destinations' designed to help guests feel like locals wherever they stay.

The Glasgow hotel is being developed as part of a franchise agreement with Cycas Hospitality and is under the ownership of Silk Property Group.

The 186-room development will follow the opening of Motto's debut European hotel in Rotterdam last week.

Key features at Motto by Hilton Glasgow will include Art Nouveau references and Mackintosh-inspired designs, as well as views of the River Clyde.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, at Hilton, said: "The hotel will give guests the freedom and flexibility to customise their stay in this celebrated Scottish city – and will pave the way for future properties in the UK as we grow the Motto by Hilton brand into vibrant city locations."

Rishi Singh from Silk Property Group added: "We're delighted to be working on this project with the team at Cycas Hospitality, using their impressive experience as a pan-European hotel company to launch this new concept on the Scottish market."

Motto by Hilton, which launched in October 2018, currently has sites in the Netherlands, Mexico and the United States.
