It may be the shortest month of the year, but February 2023 is jam-packed full of new openings and announcements of new venues. We've rounded up the latest restaurants, bars, pubs and hotels to open this month.

TBC, Notting Hill, London

Two Amsterdam-based chefs, Gabriël Verheij and Alexandre Scour, have opened their first restaurant in London: TBC (The Butter Club).

The pair first met in the kitchen at Vanderveen in Amsterdam's Oud-Zuid neighbourhood, having previously trained at the Michelin-starred Rijks at the Rijksmuseum and Tonka and Vue de Monde in Melbourne.

TBC offers a selection of international flavours divided into starter plates, a changing list of three mains, sides and desserts, which include the duo's original square croissant.

Craft beers and cocktails are also available to pair with the food.

The interiors of the Notting Hill restaurant have been decorated with records by the likes of Method Man and A Tribe Called Quest. Guests are invited to dine to hip hop music.

Staybridge Suites, Brighton

Long-stay hotel Staybridge Suites Brighton has opened as a joint venture between PGIM Real Estate and Madison Cairn. All rooms have double or king beds and a fully equipped kitchen.

Larch, City of London

Rhubarb Hospitality Collection has opened Larch, an Italian restaurant and café, at Sky Garden in the City of London. The ground floor café serves sandwiches and pastries, while the 100-cover restaurant also offers a ‘burrata bar' and outdoor terrace.

Pizza on the Square, York

Bar group Salt has opened Pizza on the Square, a casual dining and drinks venue in Yorkshire. Sourdough pizzas can be paired with a variety of cask ales and Salt's core range, which includes Jute Session IPA and Loom.

Crudo Cevicheria, Covent Garden, London

Build-your-own-ceviche brand Crudo Cevicheria is to open its fourth London site in Covent Garden. The 362 sq ft space will seat 20 diners across two floors. A range of cocktails, such as Pisco Sour, Chilcano and Smoky Mezcal Negroni, will be on offer.

Browns, Cardiff

Browns brasserie and bar has opened its first site in Wales. The Cardiff-based, all-day restaurant features art deco furnishings with bottomless brunch, traditional afternoon tea and weekly live piano performances.

Ploussard, Clapham Junction, London

Matt Harris and Tommy Kempton of Other Side Fried are to open restaurant and wine bar Ploussard in London's Clapham Junction. The 34-cover venue will offer seasonal sharing plates alongside a low-intervention wine list.

Crocadon, Cornwall

Chef-grower Dan Cox has opened his first restaurant, Crocadon, in St Mellion, Cornwall. The restaurant is housed in a historic barn on a 120-acre farm in the Tamar Valley, which has been renovated into a 25-cover dining room and open kitchen.

Cox took over the farm in 2017, which is home to rare and heritage breeds of sheep and cattle, hundreds of varieties of vegetables, fruits and herbs and two orchards producing several tonnes of apples.

Dishes on the menu will depend on what is harvested from the farm that week and will focus on pared-back yet complex cooking.

Cox spent seven years working for the Simon Rogan Group, where he gained experience establishing and working in Rogan's Our Farm in L'Enclume and Aulis in the Lake District.

Crocadon is open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Sunday lunch.

Bishop's Vault, Bishopsgate, London

Pub group Young's has opened a speakeasy-style cellar wine bar in London's Bishopsgate. Bishop's Vault is set across a 50-cover bar and a 100-cover basement. Wines are available alongside cheese and charcuterie.

Kampus, Manchester

Great North Pie Co is to open its first kitchen and bar in central Manchester. Kampus will seat 20 indoors and 30 outdoors. Guests can choose from four types of butter-pastry pies, which are served with mash, chips or cauliflower cheese.

Rudy's, Birmingham

Rudy's Pizza Napoletana has opened its second restaurant in Birmingham. The 90-cover Brindleyplace pizzeria offers pizza made from Caputo ‘00' flour topped with San Marzano tomatoes, which are grown next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella.

Charco Charco Hot Pot, Covent Garden, London

Charco Charco Hot Pot has opened its 100-cover restaurant in London's Covent Garden. The ground floor is home to a sushi bar, while the lower ground floor offers private dining spaces for 40. Chinese street food dishes are also on the menu.

Forno, Hackney, London

Chef Mitshel Ibrahim of Ombra in East London is to open an all-day bakery, pastificio and deli in Hackney following a successful Kickstarter campaign. The venue will open some evenings for Roman pizza and pasta making sessions.

The Herringbone, East Lothian

Buzzworks Holdings' Herringbone in East Lothian has reopened following a significant refurbishment, a new wine bar and kitchen. Local craft beers, 30 wines by the glass and a range of cocktails are also available.

Zapote, Shoreditch, London

Mexican chef Yahir Gonzalez has partnered with Tony Geary of Sketch in London's Mayfair to open contemporary Mexican restaurant and bar Zapote in Shoreditch in east London.

The pair first met while working for the international restaurant group Aqua.

Zapote features an open charcoal grill, a 65-cover dining room, a 45-cover cocktail bar with a separate all-day menu, and a horseshoe-shaped counter that can seat an additional 12.

Design highlights include a colourful mural wall, a gold-painted ice counter and an open-fire kitchen.

The menu adds a modern twist to traditional Mexican dishes, taking inspiration from Gonzalez's experience working in restaurants across Mexico, Spain and London.

The refurbished restaurant took over the former site of Iberian restaurant Eyre Brothers, which traded for 16 years, and live-fire specialists St Leonard's.

The Counter, Notting Hill, London

Turkish chef and restaurateur Kemal Demirasal has opened his first contemporary ocakbasi restaurant outside of Turkey, in London's Notting Hill. Dishes showcase traditional south-eastern Anatolian cooking.

Socca, Mayfair, London

Chef Claude Bosi of Bibendum has partnered with restaurateur Samyukta Nair of LSL Capital to open a French Riviera-inspired bistro in London's Mayfair. The menu will focus on seasonal highlights, offering a range of pasta, fish and meat dishes.

20ft Fried Chicken, Oxford Circus, London

Burger joint Black Bear Burger has launched its fried chicken burger brand in London's Oxford Circus. 20ft Fried Chicken offers variations of free-range buttermilk fried chicken.

Gelupo, Arcade Food Hall, London

Jacob Kennedy, chef-patron of Bocca di Lupo, has launched his Soho gelateria, Gelupo, as a pop-up venue in the JKS Arcade food hall in London's Tottenham Court Road. Gelupo gelato is churned at a slower pace to ice-cream.

Halfway at Kineton, Cheltenham

Chefs Nathan Eades and Liam Goff have teamed up to open the Halfway at Kineton, a pub with rooms in the Costwolds. The Donnington Brewery-owned pub also features three letting bedrooms and a garden area.

Durham Distillery

Durham Distillers, which was founded by brothers Jon and Iain Chadwick, is to open Durham's first gin distillery and school. The 90-minute tour will introduce guests to the history of gin.

Mr Fogg's Pawnbrokers, Soho, London

Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, the founders of Inception Group, which operates themed bars across London, are to open Mr Fogg's Pawnbrokers in Soho. It comes after the launch of Mr Fogg's Residence in Mayfair, Mr Fogg's Tavern in Covent Garden and Mr Fogg's Society of Exploration in Charing Cross.

The latest 140-cover bar has been inspired by Victorian pawnbrokers and will be divided into three sections: the Pawnbrokers Counter, the Strong Room and the Textiles Store.

The Pawnbrokers Counter will feature high stools, poseur tables and banquette seating. Keepsakes, erotica and paraphernalia from the Victorian era will be displayed with a price tag. The Strong Room will be decorated with jewels, gold and antique busts in the style of the vaults behind the pawnbrokers' counters. Finally, the Textile Store bar will include Flemish tapestries and parquet flooring.

Group bars manager Simone Spagnoli has devised the drinks menu, which pays homage to Victorian pawnbrokers as well as drinks from ancient Greece, Italy, France, Bavaria and China.

Jacuzzi , Kensington, London

Big Mamma Group has opened its fourth restaurant, Jacuzzi, in London's Kensington. The 4,000 sq ft site, which sprawls across three floors and seats 170, was designed by in-house team Studio Kiki.

Blacklock, Canary Wharf, London

London chophouse Blacklock is to open its fifth restaurant, in Canary Wharf. The 120-cover restaurant will feature a 10 metre bar and outdoor terrace, making the 4,000 sq ft venue Blacklock's biggest yet.

Hawthorn, Kew, London

Chef Joshua Hunter and Patra Panas have opened 60-cover neighbourhood restaurant Hawthorn in Kew Village. Hunter, who was previously at Kitchen W8 and Murano by Angela Hartnett, will offer modern European cuisine sourced from British ingredients.

Lucy Wong, Fitzrovia, London

Eric Yu, founder of the Breakfast Group, is to open cocktail bar Lucy Wong in London's Fitzrovia. The name pays tribute to the 1957 novel The World of Suzie Wong by Richard Mason and the menu will offer an array of dim sum and roast meats.

Petrossian, Kensington, London

Family-owned Parisian caviar brand Petrossian has launched a 16-cover café in its first London store. Hot dishes are served between 11.30am-3pm, with cold plates available until 7pm.
