The Shaston Arms in London’s Carnaby, formerly a pub operated by Hall & Woodhouse for 25 years, has been relaunched by Patty & Bun founder Joe Grossman as a gastropub with a 35-cover dining room. Sam Andrews, former head chef at Ducksoup in London’s Soho, has joined to lead on the menu of elevated pub classics.

Vietnamese restaurant Cô Thành is set to launch in London’s Covent Garden, paying homage to the late Nguyễn Thị Thanh - affectionately known as The Lunch Lady - whose signature style of street food gained global recognition after an appearance in Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. Founder Brian Woo opened the first Cô Thành in Hong Kong in 2017 and is now making his UK debut.

The Fulham Pier hotel has opened at the newly launched Fulham Pier development in London. The 13-room boutique property, which sits on the Thames, consists of nine River Rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, three Junior Suites with private balconies, and the Owner’s Penthouse, which includes a private terrace with an outdoor kitchen, bar and heated pergola.

Yahir Gonzalez and Tony Geary, the founders of Mexican restaurant Zapote in London’s Shoreditch, are launching sister taco bar Chicozapote within its Leonard Street site. The taco tasting menu is available for 12 covers per service and can be paired to a list of unique cocktails, ranging from the Chicozapote (prickly pear and orange blossom gin, saliza amaretto and karmnia vermouth) to the Calvillo Martini (Ketel one vodka, amaro santoni, guava and lychee).

Self-pour wine bar group Vagabond has opened its latest outpost beside London’s Liverpool Street Station, where guests can try more than 100 different wines by the glass. It comes amid a period of expansion for Vagabond under new owners Majestic Wine Group, who are backed by Fortress Investment. The business is also looking to open the UK’s largest urban winery at London’s Canada Water later this year.

The Hide hotel has opened on the edge of the Chatsworth Estate in the Peak District, offering 25 rooms, a grill and pizzeria overseen by executive chef Adam Harper. Guests are also granted access to 35,000 acres of park and moorland, as well as entry into Chatsworth House, the garden, farmyard and adventure playground.

The team behind Edinburgh bakery Lannan is set to open Lanna Pantry, a standalone retail and events space, later this month. It will sell cultured butter from the Edinburgh Butter Company, fresh meat from Bowhouse and fruit and vegetables from Natoora. Lannan-branded homewares and accessories will also be available.

Donny’s Deli has launched in London Fields in the capital with a menu from sandwich purveyor Huri Rapana Neil. The majority of ingredients are sourced from in and around east London through suppliers such as Fin & Flounder, Hill & Szrok and E5 Bakehouse. The deli also houses a vinyl exchange for visitors to swap records.

Chef Francesco Sarvonio, a Naples native and former head chef at Giacco’s in London’s Finsbury Park, has launched Casa Felicia’s in London’s Queen’s Park in partnership with Romain Bourrillon, founder of BO&CO hospitality group. The menu focuses on raw and dry-aged fish and handmade semola and water pasta.

The Idler restaurant and deli has opened its doors within the July aparthotel in London’s Victoria, serving an all-day menu of seasonal British ingredients infused with Mediterranean influences.

The team behind the Prince Arthur pub in London’s Belgravia has launched Arthur’s Market, a grocery store, deli, butchers and counter-top dining destination in London’s Chelsea. Guests can either order from the hand roll and sushi bar, ASA Izakaya or the 25-cover pintxos tapas bar, Salvador. ASA is headed up by chef Shaulan Steenson, previously of the Michelin-starred Endo at the Rotunda.

Nonna Bakery, which was founded in Shanghai’s Former French Concession in 2022 by founder Matteo Cicero, has launched its first UK outpost in London’s Holborn. The Italian bakery serves a selection of pastries including cornetti filled with pistachio cream, chocolate or seasonal fruit custards, and cannoli garnished with candied citrus and pistachio.

Owners Josh Eggleton and Luke Hassell are opening Root’s third and largest vegetable-forward restaurant in Bath. Root’s existing locations in Bristol and Wells have both been awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand status. The Bath restaurant spans two floors and includes a rooftop terrace.

Jess Blackstone and Mat Appleton are to open Fink’s biggest project to date this October: a café and bakery in the Grade II-listed Clissold House. The space boasts three areas and will serve seasonal cakes and pâtisserie as well as in-house bakes and croissants alongside an à la carte breakfast.

Bullgogi is set to open the UK’s largest Korean barbecue restaurant, offering diners the opportunity to cook cuts of meat, seafood and vegetables at the table.
The new site is being opened by the Maguro Group, the team behind Korean street food brand Bunsik. It will feature 165 covers with the kitchen overseen by South Korean-born chef Hans Boo.

Andrew Sheridan, alongside business partners Sam and Emma Morgan, is launching a new casual dining restaurant in Chester called Noted. The eighth restaurant for the Open Restaurant Group will take over the former site of Dai Noi, which has been fully renovated.

Husband and wife team Win Srinavakool and Por Haruethai Noicharoen are bringing the first international outpost of Chiang Mai’s noodle bar to London. The restaurant has earned international acclaim for its signature coconut curry noodle soup, Khao Soi.

Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox of Three Cheers Pub Co are to open their tenth pub on the Kings Road in Chelsea, following a £2.4m investment. The venue spans two floors with live entertainment on the ground floor.

The Public House group is opening the Hart on Chiltern Street in London’s Marylebone. The pub dates back to the 1840s and the group plans to continue its Victorian legacy with thoughtful design touches. Ingredients will be sourced from its own garden at Bruern Farms.
