This week's openings include Yen, Hotel Indigo Cardiff, Londrino and more.

Yen

Part of Japanese fashion company Onward Holdings, fine-dining restaurant Yen has brought its buckwheat soba noodles from Paris to its first site in London, on the Strand.

Soba noodles are handmade on-site twice daily by Maruno Hidenori and Katsuki Sakurai, who were trained by soba specialist Takahashi Kunihiro in Yamanashi, Japan. The soba is served cold with dips, grilled meats or tempuras, or in hot soup with a selection of toppings. The menu also includes a substantial sushi selection served in the main restaurant and at the eight-seater sushi counter. Main dishes are largely centred around the robata and tempura dishes.

The drinks list offers cocktails, wines and spirits, and a wide variety of Japanese sakes, beers, shochu, plum wines and whiskies. Cocktails will blend typical Japanese flavours such as yuzu and lychee and offer an Eastern twist on classic cocktails.
