Pembrokeshire’s Paternoster Farm team secures new restaurant site

Pembrokeshire pub Paternoster Farm has found a new home after its lease was not renewed.

The 12-strong team at Paternoster Farm will move to the Old Point House pub in nearby Angle, where they will offer an evening menu in the same style as the original restaurant.

The move will also see the Pembrokeshire pub refurbished, its prep room upgraded to a dedicated bakehouse to capitalise on to-go trade in the summer months and the introduction of a menu of bar snacks and handmade baked goods.

It has also started a Kickstarter campaign around the move, and if that exceeds its target, the team plans to introduce covered outdoor seating to drive year-round footfall.

The move to the Old Point House from Paternoster Farm came as the restaurant confirmed that it would have to close in April, after Pembrokeshire county council failed to renew the restaurant’s lease in 2025.

Evans, who won support unanimous local authority support for a petition to urgently review the county farm policy, which resulted in Paternoster Farm’s lease not being renewed, said: “The ongoing uncertainty around our tenancy has been exhausting and emotionally draining for our whole family and our team.”

“An urgent policy review was agreed, yet almost eight months later that review has not begun. It has become apparent we are looking at years, not months, before a longer-term decision is made,” she added.

“When the Old Point House opportunity arose, we gave it a lot of thought. Ultimately, it felt like such a good fit that we couldn’t turn it down; not least because it offers long-term security for the hospitality side of what we do.”
