Dave Ahern joins Alexandra pub in Wimbledon as head chef

Dave Ahern has joined the Alexandra pub in Wimbledon as head chef, just seven months after he first embarked on a career in cooking.

Ahern's culinary career began as a commis chef at the Ship in Wandsworth, south London - the flagship operation of pub company Young's - before moving on to the Engineer pub in Primrose Hill.

At the Alexandra, also a Young's property, Ahern is tasked with developing the menu.
