Jennings celebrates 5.5% growth
Pub operator and brewer Jennings has announced a 5.5% jump in turnover for the five months to January 2005.
The group said that like-for-like operating income at its 128 leased and tenanted pubs in the North of England had grown by 5% over the period.
Jennings also runs a brewery in Cockermouth, Cumbria, which saw turnover growth of 5.6%, compared with the same period in 2004.
The group expected pre-tax profits for the year ending 26 February to be in line with market expectations at £3.2m, compared with £3m in 2003, with turnover hitting the £18.9m mark (£17.2m in 2003).
The spokesman added that the group planned to spend £5m next year expanding the business.
