Wolves hits 100 with Bostin' Local

Brewer and pubs operator Wolverhampton & Dudley has opened its 100th Bostin' Local pub, with 40 more in the pipeline.

The £1.2m Cobbler's Hall pub in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, is the latest addition to the chain, which is overseen by W&D's Pathfinder Pubs division.

The Bostin' Local chain has been going for four years, and the company has so far invested £35m in refurbishing and opening pubs.

Pathfinder Pubs managing director Derek Andrew said, on average, the refurbished pubs were reporting doubled turnover, with food representing 30% of that income.

"Bostin' Locals have been an enormous success for us and reaching 100 is a real cause for celebration," he said.

"The success of this on-going investment programme demonstrates our ability to drive good growth from our assets. We have plenty to go for, with a further 40 conversions possible from our existing estate and new sites in the pipeline," he added.
