The 146-bedroom property will overlook the cricket stadium, which hosts the ICC World Cup and the Ashes.
Radisson Hotel Group has partnered with Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham to open a new-build Radisson Red property in Q2 of 2027.
Radisson Red Birmingham Edgbaston Stadium will feature 146 bedrooms, over half of which will overlook the cricket ground.
Edgbaston Stadium is one of the largest cricket venues in the UK, holding up to 25,000 visitors for tournaments such as the ICC World Cup and the Ashes.
The hotel will offer a mix of meetings and events spaces and a main restaurant and bar on the rooftop, as well as an outdoor terrace.
It joins Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio of 70 properties in operation and under development across the UK and Ireland.
The Radisson Red project will coincide with the stadium’s redevelopment of the Ragland and Family stands, as well as the addition of a new concourse and improved accessibility facilities.
Adela Cristea, vice-president of business development UK, Ireland and the Nordics at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are proud to have been chosen as hotel partner and are thrilled to be part of this stunning project. The Radisson Red brand is the ultimate brand for this lively location. We truly see a great potential with combining hospitality and sport events for the benefit of guests, clients and partners.”
Craig Flindall, chief operating officer at Edgbaston, added: “We’re delighted to partner with Radisson Hotel Group. Radisson Red’s upscale lifestyle theme is a perfect fit for our vision of the stadium’s ambitious Masterplan project.”
The Radisson Red brand was launched in 2015 and first entered the UK market through Glasgow. It has since expanded its portfolio to include the flagship Radisson Red Liverpool, Radisson Red London Heathrow and the soon-to-open Radisson Red London Twickenham Stadium.
Radisson Red also operates in Madrid, Oslo and Belgrade.
