Alan Yau to launch two new London restaurants

Restaurateur Alan Yau is set to launch another two London restaurants - the first coming this year, with another set to follow in 2018.

Yau, who founded Busaba Eathai, Hakkasan and Wagamama, confirmed on Instagram that he would be launching a new venue in Marylebone at 26 St James Street called Yamabahçe, offering pide - a type of Turkish pizza.

The venue, on the site of what was Cafe Creperie, is scheduled to open in September and marks a return to the restaurant business for Yau, who left AAYA, which runs Duck & Rice in London and Babaji Pide, which has sites in London and Dubai, last year.

Yau is also thought to be involved as a consultant in an as-yet-unnamed restaurant on Beauchamp Place in London, working alongside restaurant consultancy Global Food and Beverage (UK) Management Services (GFBMS).

No-one from GFBMS was available to comment about the planned opening and Yau was also unavailable for comment.
