Andrew Nutter ordered to take down celebrations signs

Rochdale chef Andrew Nutter has been ordered to take down signs celebrating the 20th anniversary his restaurant.

The Nutters restaurant owner was told to take down his ‘Celebrating 20 Years' signs by Rochdale council, which said he had 24 hours to do so or he faced a fee, according to http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/restaurants-bars/chef-andrew-nutter-told-sign-5679314" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Manchester Evening News.

He said: "I was told to take them down or they would do it and charge me for the work. It seems okay for other businesses to have signs up saying ‘this band is on' and other random signs are left up. I spotted one sign on traffic lights but my signs were up high on lampposts.

"They are professionally made and looked stunning. I was only going to have them up for a couple of weeks to celebrate the anniversary."

Mark Widdup, director of economy and environment at Rochdale council, said: "The council is aware of Mr Nutter's concerns. We will be speaking to Mr Nutter to discuss this issue and try and find a way forward."
