Babbo owners to launch second site, Fornata, in Soho
The owners of Italian restaurant Babbo in Mayfair are set to expand with the opening of a new venue in Soho in next month.
Fornata, which will launch in early October, will be located on Kingly Street, off Carnaby Street, on the site previously occupied by Japanese restaurant Donzoko.
Named after the Italian word forno, meaning oven, Fornata will be spread over two floors featuring open kitchens as the centre point. A long cocktail and dining bar will be located on the ground floor with a main dining room downstairs.
The all-day menu will be developed by executive chef Douglas Santi and will feature regional Italian food with an emphasis on oven-cooked dishes, while the bar will be open until 1am.
