Bayswater's the Shiori closes

The Shiori restaurant in London's Bayswater has closed.

The restaurant, which served Japanese kaiseki cuisine, opened on Moscow Road on 2013.

The brainchild of chef-patron Takashi Takagi and his wife Hitomi, the restaurant opened to a five-star review from The London Evening Standard.

Dinner at the Shiori consisted of two options - a hana menu at £65 per person, and the 12-course kokoro at £105.

In a statement on its website, the restaurant's owners said: "Thank you for all customers who visited us and encouraged us. We had a wonderful time in London."

It is not yet known what will replace the restaurant at its 45 Moscow Road site.
