Beefeater Grill recreates Abbey Road cover with breakfast ingredients
The Beefeater Grill has commissioned food sculptor Paul Baker to create a mosaic of the cover of the Beatles album Abbey Road with a range of its breakfast ingredients - including sausages, bacon, scrambled egg, tomatoes, croissants, crumpets, hash browns and toast, fresh fruit, cereal and dried fruit toppings. In keeping with his preference for vegetarian food, Paul McCartney was recreated by the sculptor exclusively with mushrooms.
Beefeater Grill spokesman Sam Vaughan said: "After a ‘Hard Day's Night' a hearty breakfast is the best way to start the day and we hope that the variety we offer at Beefeater Grill will keep our customers coming back for more."
A poll organised by the company has revealed that the shot of the band crossing the road is regarded as Brits' favourite among other historical photographs - such as Bobby Moore celebrating England's victory at the World Cup in 1966, William and Kate kissing on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, Winston Churchill holding up the peace sign and the Queen's coronation in 1953.
