Bel-Air ‘feel good fast food' ceases trading

‘Feel good fast food' company Bel-Air has ceased trading with the closure of all three of its sites.

The group has closed its London sites in Shoreditch, Leadenhall (pictured) and Farringdon, as it said it had been unable to secure funding to continue trading. The Leadenhall store opened only six months ago.

Bel Air had been due to launch a crowdfunding campaign earlier this month, which was then postponed until the new year, according to City A.M.

A post across Bel-Air's social media accounts read: "We haven't been able to secure our funding to continue trading and we've been forced to close our stores.

"It's with great regret we must confirm Bel-Air Inc has ceased trading. We would like to thank our loyal staff for their enormous efforts and all our wonderful customers."

Bel Air opened its first site in Shoreditch in March 2015, offering "a slice of LA living" in London, and serving light, healthy dishes. The concept was originally founded by entrepreneur Andrew Bredon, with menus developed by chef Damian Currie, formerly of Lardo, Zucca and St. John.
