Bidvest Logistics wins £86m contract to supply food to Gondola Group
Bidvest Logistics has won an £86m three-year contract extension to supply dry, frozen and chilled food to Gondola Group's nationwide restaurant chains.
The contract for Gondola, which owns the Pizza Express, Byron, Zizzi and Ask restaurant chains, will be effective from July 2012.
There was a three-month tendering process for the deal, which involved several different food service operators.
Henry Godber, director of supply chain excellence, said: "Bidvest Logistics is delighted to have won this major account, following a rigorous tendering process."
Andy Milner, head of supply chain for Gondola, said: "We are very happy to continue working with Bidvest Logistics for the next three years as we firmly believe that their flexibility, quality of service and planned investments will only serve to enhance what is already an efficient and effective distribution supply chain for our restaurants."
